It's a girl & she's a Fula Black

I was born on the 1st July 2002.  In this photo I am 2 days old.  Mum was quite surprised there was only one of me but I'm thriving having a whole milk bar to myself.  Human mum was even more surprised by my colour because both my parents are red & white.

I'm now 17 days old.  I began to open my eyes on day 15 looking through little slits and I've been practising walking for days.

 It was great seeing my family for the first time and I love playing with Asti.  Being the new baby of the family means I get lots of interest with plenty of cuddles and kisses.  Dad and Asti even help change my diaper.  Human mum thinks I'm just like my dad because I sleep on my back with my legs in the air.

Human mum decided at five weeks old it was time I explored the great outdoors to begin my proper toilet training.  Up to now I have been using a cat litter tray indoors which as far as I'm concerned is ideal - I don't have to get cold paws!  Of course at first I wanted to go straight back inside as it was a bit scarey but then I found all these interesting things I've never seen before so I soon relaxed and started to enjoy myself. 

We named her Kanibaru Fula Love

Fula is loved by Dave & Maree who watched her grow from when she was a sparkle in her mums eye.  She was going to do both obedience and showing but her owners have accepted a great job opportunity in Peru so she is destined to be a jet set basenji.

P.S. Being a singleton pup Fula was house trained before she left us as a baby - 
(read how we taught her to pee in the litter tray and not on the carpets)  imagine our pleasant surprise to hear she is still using a litter tray at 5 months of age when mum and dad are not around - we're sure she'll be too big to fit in it soon!
