Young Buttons on the rocks in the Kalamunda Hills next to baby Sky

Buttons just had to have this name as she was as cute as a Button as a baby pup and she still is of course!!  It may be a bit of an unfortunate name for her now though because I tend to play on names and shorten them so she often gets called 'Butts' or Butty, Butt, Butt' or  'Butty, Butt Butt, Boo' or Butt, Butt, Boodle or Buttonay which must sound rather weird to judges in the show ring when I try to get her attention:-).  There were only two puppies in her litter, two special little girls, one red/white and one black/white.  They were such well behaved little girls and no trouble at all for baby puppies.  Buttons has attended a few shows as a baby for practise and was Best Baby Puppy of Breed at the 2005 Perth Royal Show handled skillfully by Joanne Stewart of Hazhart Basenjis.  Buttons has the most ENORMOUS appetite for food.  The first time she went in the ring she showed like a pro but then she discovered bait on the floor and since then she gaits with her nose to the ground!!  Oh well, she has plenty of time to learn, she's only just entered Minor Class.

I love Buttons head which has a lovely wedge shape with short muzzle and small well set ears.  It's hard to see her wrinkles with black fur but when positioned at the right angle you can see a good side wrinkle.  Her eyes are dark and adorable.  Buttons has a nice short sleek coat, nice bone, strong pasterns and level back.  Buttons moves with a traditional effortless swinging stride.

Buttons at 9 weeks old

Health Information: No Inguinal Hernia but she does have an Umbilical Hernia.  Eyes very minor PPM strands at 7 wks old.  No Coloboma.
