Aust Ch Nonaym Asti Spumante |
After a long break from the ring since her litter we returned Asti to the ring the end of August 2004. In just over four months she sailed to her title gaining 95 challenge points. In this time a regular Best of Breed winner and several Australian Bred in Groups. From her litter in 2003 two pups were exhibited and both became Champions and did well at Specialties. Her son Razer was Best Opposite Sex in Show at the 2004 NSW Basenji Specialty. You can read more about her offspring on their own pages. Asti has a nickname of Auntie Asti. This is because she LOVES babies, including other bitches babies and tends them and cares for them as though they are her own. She even produced milk for Chloes' 2004 babies. She's a super girl and we intend to let Asti have some more pups of her own in the future.

Asti
at sweet 8 months
Asti comes from a small successful breeder in country Victoria, Karen Ordar of Nonaym.
Asti is my first black and white basenji and a bundle of fun. She is little miss character plus with a smashing personality. Asti is a very lovable with a great sense of humour. She is joyful and baroos at the most appropriate times and makes the sweetest sounds I've heard come from a Basenjis mouth. Asti is a fantastic companion girl, always at my side watching and observing.
Asti is such a smart looking little black and white girl, I really love the contrast the black gives making for clean cut markings. Everything just falls into place on her. I particularly like her close silky coat, head shape with lovely small ears and dark eyes set on well crested neck. Strong pasterns, nice turn of stifle and excellent tail set with great reach onto her hip. She is a super mover covering ground effortlessly with a flowing swinging gait.
The first time Asti stepped into the ring as a little baby she may have been small but she owned the ring. She stood beautifully on the table and didn't put a foot out of place on the triangle and when we returned to the judge he said 'she's a pro you'd think she'd been doing it all her life'. He went on to give her Best Baby Puppy in Group. Asti is a natural and a real little show pony.
