Photo Diary of Asti's pups week 8

I think this little boy decided he would help by keeping a look out in our garden.  See how the pups have grown below.

Week 8
This was a really hectic week, which meant no time for photo diary updates regrettably.  Fula who is Chloe's singleton pup from last season which we bred went missing whilst her owners Dave & Maree were on holiday for a few days.  We were informed and then began a week long search to find Fula.  Her owners promptly returned from their holiday and we all hunted day and night to find her.  We were all dreadfully worried for her safety because she was lost in a suburb near the city with many major roads and we were in a heatwave and she is still only an 8 month pup.  We put thousands of leaflets through letterboxes, placed hundreds of posters on bus stops, dog park bins and public places.   We asked everyone we saw "have you seen a young black & white basenji"?  Our search began covering a vast area once sightings came in.  We advertised in various mediums, rang dog refuges and rangers all to no avail.  We were desperate to find Fula and have her back home with her devoted owners where she belonged.  Finally a week later someone responded to a newspaper photo ad of Fula.  Someone  had been caring for her for a week.  We were all so relieved and pleased to see Fula again.  Khyber who was instrumental in the search for Fula told her off when he next saw her telling her to never ever do it again.  Fula said "never, never" then charged excitedly around the garden.  Mummy Chloe was just relieved to see her only daughter safe and daddy Blade played and played with Fula for ages.  Thank you to everyone who helped with the search for Fula we were overwhelmed with the help and support received from complete strangers.

Kanibaru Visual Power

'Diesel'  This handsome boy has gone to live with Leanne & Graeme in Kalgoorlie who are over the moon with him and love his sweet placid nature.

First born
Black & White boy

Kanibaru Visual Appeal

'Milo'  named after Asti's maiden pet name given by her breeder during her first 9 weeks.  We always liked this name but our girl was already destined to be called Asti after her pedigree name Nonaym Asti Spumante'.  Young Milo will be exhibited in the Perth show ring.

2nd born
Red & White girl

Kanibaru Visual Touch

'Razer'  Nicknamed 'mini me' by Chris due to his resemblance to his sire Blade.   Razer will also be exhibited in the Perth show ring with his sister.

3rd born
Red & White boy

Kanibaru Visual Charm

'Khamu is now the much loved pet of Carol & Kai.  From an early age we had fondly been calling her 'little spot' because of her little black spot on her chest, adorable sweet personality and being the smallest of the litter.  Carol tells us she continues to melt the hearts of everyone who meets her and their families are battling over who gets to baby sit!

4th born
Black & White girl

Kanibaru Visual Effect

'Pepsi'  was looking an excellent show prospect so we were delighted when Christina an Amstaff exhibitor in Queensland picked this girl as her first basenji show dog.  Sadly Christina decided the basenji breed was not for her so rather than put Pepsi through the ordeal of another flight back to WA after only a few days, instead we contacted a family on the Gold Coast who had enquired about obtaining a pet girl from this litter.  Although we feel it is a great shame this promising young pup won't be exhibited her happiness is our first concern and she is now in a loving pet home living with the Wass family.

5th born
Black & White girl

We've really enjoyed this litter.  From Asti's super fast whelping, the evenness of sexes and colour, watching those gorgeous personalities develop and the quality of the litter with nice conformation and lovely markings.  They've been a real treat and we fell in love with them all.   We wish them many happy years with their new owners.
